F/A-18 isnt as good as USAF says. In the Gulf war a MiG-25 downed a F/A-18. If the Iraqi pilots were better trained, i estimate they would have knocked down 4-5 F/A-18's. MiG-29 is better than the F/A-18, depending what missiles the MiG is carrying. If it has a pair of R-77's and a few R-73's, the MiG will dominate at Long, Medium and close range.

nedeljko031, if f-18 engage in close combat with the mig-29, the f-18 might also have a chance to win, they can load the the f-18 with aim-120 amraam medium range missiles or aim-9 sidewinder short range missile.......but f-18 and mig-29 both are good....

the f-18/f superhornet is not old at all, it just replaced the f-14 which was decommissioned as of 2006, and sorry everyone, the F-22/A raptor IS the number 1 aircraft

Nope sorry, but you know nothing! I bought a official book of the SAF! This was a official training between the german airforce and the Swiss airforce. They made several trainings and they found out, that the Hornet is a top moderne fighter aircraft and it can fight allmost every other fighterjet. In most of the fights in the mountains the mig 29 was to unmanouvable to fight the hornet! I don't know why most of the poeple think the hornet is an old jet which isn't good enough anymore
