Partually true, but You can't later on change lightning and angle in "original footage".

So you take a real person. Make them record what you want in the game. Take your technology and animate them to make them look real....WHY....just use the original footage in the game to begin with. makes no senses unless your technology is able to take the "real looking" animation and alter it to be able to do things in game like getting an arm cut off or something. If it is limited to what you record, then it is completely useless.

I dont understand the point of this. Motion capture with dot points is better because you can use those for your own made up character in games. with this you have to base every picture of the character in game off of the real person. and in that case why not just put the real person in it instead of just maing the real person look animated. FAIL!!!

is the upcoming terminator 4 using this ? :P

I agree and am not impressed. Maybe i could see what the buzz is about if it is cheaper than mo-cap.
semicloud (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
no wow factor. these people are idiots. this is just glossed over motion cap technology requiring video tapped movement of real people. in this case, superimposed facial animation unto video of real actor talking.
