Fairly sure Nirvana is a Sanskrit word. Wikipedia points to a Pāli root word, "Nibbāna". Definitely doesn't have any connection to Portuguese, short of them borrowing it from the same source we did. Either way, I'm with you that they're borrowing these words. It's amusing to hear people purposefully mispronouncing loan words because "that's how they say them in Japanese." Sure, they do, but it's not INTENTIONAL.

Yes, Spanish is based on alot of Latin Words just like all the other European languages. Latin was the starter of all that.

haha it's funny, if you read the japanese comments, everyone who said that gets a million thumbs down.

lol this sint gonna get anywhere. See ぱふゅーむ means perfume in japanese and thats the way its written. Its like writing cat in spanish you get "gato" which is from the english language but the spanish write it differently to go with their language. Just like the Japanese write ぱふゅーむ for perfume because thats how they would write it in their own language.

Initially, "ぱふゅ~む"(hiragana). "パフューム"(katakana) is still available like in this page.:"Perfume (パフューム, Pafyūmu) is a female J-pop and Electropop group consisting of ----" Anyway, both English and Japanese borrow words from other languages. Only ignorance can allow us to feel "funny for how they sing japanese but their songs and group name is english". Why does Nirvana sing English songs though they hava a Portuguese name?
