and i think that a successful hosting of the world cup far rightly throws out your statement, not one tourist was killed, mugged or raped nor did any misconduct in the smallest be condoned, that says alot dont you think???? those were hardened criminals not afraid of prison or death coz theyve literally seen both, although not having experienced the latter. it's like any place in the world, if your outnumbered at a certain time, u will give in unless u want to die and go out in a hail of bullets

@ keinaan, its not about being pussy, south african police are one of the best if not the best police unit in the world, some of our trainers go overseas to train the Americans and British, members of our former Recce unit train US Marines aswell as British Marines in combat training, no surprise really when a country isolated for years had to develop its own military style and tactics. but the reason why the gangs in cape town do that is because they have no fear and nothing to really live for.

@therealist98 no but thats a death mission, and stupid, people here try to avoid the police especially if there trying to hustle. its the police that bother us. we try to stay as far away from them as possible
