again, i say, she has done so publicly. and ree is able to give others props. just the other day on the view she acknowledged tina. she loves dionne. and she speaks very highly of miss ross and nancy wilson. i hope the time will come when all these great divas can be on the same stage and tear the house down.

And I'd definitely sing it for the world to hear, both loud and clear in respect for Patti. Your most definitely welcome, because that is the way that I and many others feel. But I believe there will be the day of TRUTH when some may just call Aretha out on her "A-game," and say how they truly feel.

At that time, that's what we heard. Patti has been a part of other tributes for hers, and it would be nice to see Aretha do the same. It might not be love loss, but there is definitely like loss if you get what I mean. She has only given Patti props indirectly, it would be nice to see Aretha stand up in front of people and not mind telling how she feel about Patti or any other female artist that is close to her age.

aretha isn't a part of the tribute to my knowledge, just as patti wasn't a part of hers. but she has given patti props many times, calling her diva, even in her book. so there is no love loss there.

Someone should give you mic so you can say what you just wrote on this page in front of the whole world especially Aretha. I don't know why she is like that and why no one has called her on her lack of respect for other artists like she is the greatest singer God ever created. Yeah right man lets get real people! So thank you for saying that its good to know others feel the same way as me!

Direfranchement, thanks for your comment. These 2 songs may be classic to you, but to me they are 'so-so' until Patti got hold of them. I don't know her reason for choosing them, but I am thrilled to hear Patti sing
ANYTHING. I am glad to share your love of Patti's brilliant talent.

Neither of these songs are "so-so". Both are classics in their own right. Patti sang arrangements of them which allowed her to showcase her unique talents, and it was Oh so beautiful, but these songs are timeless. Indeed, their timelessness and quality probably had something to do with her choices.

nice I hope Aretha sings R.E.S.P.E.C.T, something that I feel she sometimes lacks in giving to other artists who has been in the music business just as long as her if not longer, but just might not have made it to the status that she has as far as her success, but most definitely not in performing, which is what Patti is most known for. |
